The beginning of the universe

Just read this on a Christian forum here (this is quite a chilling place actually)

Atheism
The belief that there was nothing.
Nothing happened to nothing and then nothing magically exploded for no reason creating everything and then a bunch of everything magically rearranged itself for no reason whatsoever into self-replicating bits which turned into Dinosaurs.
Makes perfect sense
.

Someone uses it as their signature.

Obviously this was supposed to be a joke at the apparent gaping holes in atheism.  Ironically it seems to me that that description of the beginning of the universe is actually not too far off the mark!  I found it to be quite a concise description of what happened; if that doesn't sit well with you, or you choose not to believe it then so be it.  A universe without purpose is an idea some people simply cannot grapple with.
